Late comeback leads Fury past Snappers 10-9

ST. CATHARINES , Ont. - The Niagara Falls Storm's Fury captured their fourth straight victory as they defeated the Niagara Snappers by the score of 10-9 on the road Thursday night. With the victory, the Fury improve their GHFL record to 7-1-1.

With two out in the top of the seventh and the bases loaded, Fury pitcher Tom Berube belted a grand slam over the centerfield fence off Snappers reliever Jay Paylove to put the Fury up 10-9.

In the bottom of the seventh Berube closed the game striking out three of the final four batters he faced giving him nine strikeouts on the night and the win.

Leading the Fury offense was Adam Dearborn who was 2-for-2 with a homerun, three walks and four runs scored. Berube was 2-for-5 with a homerun and four RBI. Joe McMaster went 1-for-4 with a clutch double to lead off the seventh.

For the Snappers Peter Dobbin (2-for-4), Matt Lyon (3-for-4, HR, 2B), Trevor Falk (2-for-5, HR) and Mike Bateman (2-for-4, HR) all had multiple hit performances.
