Fury Improves to 2-0 with win over Dawgs

NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. - The Niagara Falls Fury improved their GHFL record to 2-0 as they defeated the Dawgs at Ker Park Wednesday night.

48 year old Butch Provost picked up the victory for the Fury allowing five runs on eight hits with relief from Scott Wagar in innings six and seven. Provost stuck out six in five innings while Wagar struck out six of seven batters he faced in the final two innings. Wagar has now gone six straight innings striking out the side and leads the league with 24 strikeouts in just nine innings of work.

Offensive stars for the Fury were Ray Carr who blasted his first two homeruns of the season while adding four RBI. Adam Dearborn went 3-for-3 adding a homerun and a double while scoring four times. Joe MacMaster rounded out the Fury leaders going 2-for-5 with three runs scored.

For the Dawgs Sean Doxtater and Jeff Bolton were both 2-for-4.
